Frequently Asked Questions

What happens to my dry cleaning after I drop it off?

  1. After you drop off for your dry cleaning each piece is tagged to ensure that it doesn’t get lost. The clerk will inspect the clothing for stains and missing buttons.
  2. The cleaner will carefully inspect each garment to look for stains and apply a pretreatment solvent to make stain removal easier and more complete.
  3. The clothes are then put into the dry cleaning machine and cleaned with a solvent.
  4. The clothes are then re-inspected and for any lingering stains and the stains will be removed if the necessary.
  5. Each garment is then finished; which includes pressing, folding, packaging and other finishing touches.

What is dry cleaning?

Dry cleaning is a process that cleans without using water. The cleaning fluid is a liquid solvent that contains no water and that is why it’s called dry cleaning. The dry cleaning machine is a washer/extractor/dryer. Once the clothing has been placed in the dry cleaning machine, the clothing is rotated in a basket and sprayed with a constant flow of cleaning solvent. The solvent is then extracted from the clothing and the clothing dried.

What to do when you stain a dry clean only garment?

Gently blot the stain with a clean cloth to remove as much debris as possible. Never rub the stain, this will only drive the stain deeper into the fabric and may also enlarge the stain. Take the garment to Country Squire Cleaners as soon as possible to have the stain removed. Make sure you tell the clerk about the stain and what caused the stain.
